Levi’s Happy Tail

Little Tuxedo kitty Levi meant everything to Kionna: friend, family, and on her worst days, something to live for. No matter how tough her financial situation could be at times, she always made sure Levi received the veterinary care she needed. But with all her diligence, a spay surgery had been out of reach – unaffordable, inaccessible, and seemingly unnecessary. Kionna didn’t know that Levi’s hard and bloated belly meant she was suffering from pyometra, a deadly infection of the uterus in unspayed animals. Levi had never been more sick, nor Kionna’s financial situation more desperate. When their veterinarian delivered the bad news, they thankfully told Kionna about the RedRover Relief Urgent Care grant program.

Connection, Not Correction, in North Carolina

In March, we kicked off our first Community Programs deployment of the year, returning to Henderson, North Carolina, to partner with Dogs Deserve Better Piedmont (DDBP), a local outreach group dedicated to improving the quality of life for pups and their families. DDBP focuses on unchaining outdoor (family) dogs and providing them with safe enclosures to move freely, comfortable dog houses, enrichment items, and veterinary care. 

Coming to You Live from Ms. Ramos’ Class – Kindness is Alive and Well!

Ms. Ramos, who teaches first grade at a school receiving Title 1 funding in Texas, had received Kind News magazine in the past. After adding her name to our Nominate-an-Educator list, she was delighted when, thanks to generous donors who supported our recent #SpreadKindNews campaign, her class was again gifted the magazine.
