โ€œWe Just Want to See Her Happyโ€ย ย

Lilyโ€™s Happy Tail

By adopting Lily, a special needs dog, David committed himself to keeping her comfortable and giving her the happy life she deserved. Of all the challenges they had overcome, the worst one came at an even worse time: Lily developed a pyometra infection, David was under serious financial pressure, and their family had lost another dog just months before. It would break them to lose Lily, but a RedRover Relief Urgent Care grant kept this family together.

RedRoverโ€™s Summer Supporting
DV survivors

September was a full-circle month for us here at RedRover โ€“ from sharing about the importance of keeping people and pets together, to supporting the ambitious goals of others, to working with organizations as they emBARK on their journey to creating a pet housing program. Last month had many highlights as we continued to move the needle forward for domestic violence survivors and their pets.

One Detroit Familyโ€™s Unchaining Story

In September our RedRover Responders team headed to Detroit, Michigan, for our largest fence-building project yet: Over four days we helped to unchain and build individual yard spaces for 24 dogs that live outside. Many families are caring for dogs that have been abandoned or have simply shown up at their homes. In fact, one family we helped on this trip moved into their new rental and were surprised to find a scared pup that had been left chained in the yard: Macey.
