Hi Savannah 😸

I hope you enjoyed our inaugural FurEver Friends quarterly update in April! My goal with these updates is, well, to be friends. The lifesaving work that your monthly support makes possible is serious, but it's not without a fun side: a celebration of the human-animal bond and the way our love for pets brings us together as people.

As my FurEver Friend, I want you to get the inside scoop on RedRover's culture, upcoming events and important dates, giveaways, and words of gratitude you won't find anywhere else. 

Erin Bialecki, our Director of Development and Communications, celebrated SEVENTEEN YEARS with RedRover in March. She knows better than anyone how special our FurEver Friends are, and she wanted me to share this message. 

Inspirational is one of five values of RedRover's internal culture. The other four are Caring, Unwavering, Respected, and Vigilant. Your generous support as a FurEver Friend is the embodiment of these values. 

In the spirit of vigilance, let's see what's happening in the next few months.

JULY

Long-time FurEver Friends may remember RedRover was once a partner in the My Dog is Cool campaign! Education is an important part of our mission of bringing animals from crisis to care. This campaign helps concerned, compassionate people spread awareness of the danger of leaving our dogs in the car, even on mild weather days, or to run a quick errand.

As our summers get hotter, knowing what to do in a crisis moment like this is essential. Check out the laws in your state for safely rescuing a dog left alone in a hot car. You're already a friend to the animals, why not be a hero, too?

You ever wonder who comes up with all these National This Day and National That Month? I'm not complaining – how could I when they give us pawesome holidays like these?

September is National Preparedness Month and a great time to make sure you and your pets will be ready when disaster strikes. But hurricanes, wildfires, tornados and other disasters are becoming more frequent and more intense, so don't wait until September! Check out our comprehensive list of tips for disaster preparedness today. You will never regret planning ahead. 

Remember: if it's not safe for you, it's not safe for your pets.

FurEver Friends Fun Poll

Thank you for responding to April's fun poll! I think there are people who have pets, and then there are pet people. You're a FurEver Friend, so it's no doubt you are a pet person.

As a pet person who works from home and talks to my dog all day long (unless she's snoozin', which is most of the time), I wanted to know...

More than half of us converse with our pets AND reply on their behalf in a silly voice. I can't say that I'm surprised, but oh to be a fly on the wall for those conversations!
