Enduring bonds: Volunteering for Ukrainian pets
In May, Beth Gammie, RedRover’s Director of Field Services, packed her bags for Poland and spent several weeks volunteering with the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW). There, they helped refugees from Ukraine with the pets they brought with them when they evacuated. Beth shares her experience in this feature.

Collaborating for a kinder world
In May, RedRover Readers hosted a workshop in partnership with Sacramento’s Front Street Animal Shelter to train 11 educators representing sites in the City of Sacramento 4th “R,” START, and expanded learning programs. One educator shared, “This is a training that everyone in education should know about.” Thank you for helping build empathy in schools — a skill needed now more than ever.
