It's good to be in touch, Friend!
The countdown to the new year is on and all of us at RedRover are working hard to raise every dollar we can to give pets and families in crisis hope for better things to come in 2025. Our FurEver Friends play an important part in making that happen every year. In fact, you fabulous, generous animal lovers have already contributed more than $405,000 in recurring gifts to date โ that's a whole lotta hope!ย
I shared that incredible number with Sheri Madsen, our Director of Public Relations and Partnerships. Besides a few "no way," "wow," and "really?" comments, she had this to say:

It seems like just yesterday we were looking 2024ward with unlimited potential for the new year. Your recurring support accomplished so much good for animals these past nine months, and I am excited to share more about that in the next bulletin. For now, let's see what the last three months of 2024 have in store.ย ย

OCTOBERย ย
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) and we're committed to supporting survivors through the
RedRover Relief Safe Escape grant program. These grants pay for pet boarding so survivors can flee abuse with their pets and keep them safe, if their local domestic violence shelter can't accept pets. These grants are essential as we continue to make progress toward establishing more pet-friendly domestic violence shelters nationwide.ย
In honor of DVAM, we're offering one free Purple Leash Project bandana to every FurEver Friend! Click here to gets yours so you or your pet can rock a bandana on Purple Thursday (October 17) to support survivors. Don't forget to tag us on social media at @RedRoverOrg!
The focus may be on supporting survivors and their pets this month, but theย RedRover Responders program's work to support communities in crisis continues. A team of volunteers is on the ground right now in North Carolina caring for animals impacted by Hurricane Helene. Later this month, we'll head to the Navajo Nation in New Mexico to build safe, outdoor enclosures for dogs living outside and help families with essential pet care.ย
If you're mulling over ideas for a New Year's resolution, skip the diet and become a RedRover Responders volunteer instead.ย

ย ย DECEMBERย ย
Tuesday, December 3 is...
A. the 338th day of the leap year
B. four weeks from New Year's Eve
C. GIVING TUESDAY
D.ย All of the above
Technically D, but you get partial credit for C, Friend.
December 3 is Giving Tuesday and we are optimistic that this compassionate community will make it one for the books. Soon we'll share more about our goal for this special day and what incredible things you've helped us accomplish this year for pets and families in crisis.

I'm surprised, Friends. No, not that most of you consider yourself your pet's parent โ legally and financially, that makes total sense. But not a single person considers themselves to be their pet's roommate or business partner, and just one egalitarian soul considers themselves a peer. Think of the missed business opportunities! The equally shared household chores!ย
I get it though. When you can only choose one option but realistically you are your pet's parent, friend, roommate, personal assistant, business partner, and peer (and
chauffeur, chef, power of attorney, etc.) all at once, parent is a sensible choice.ย ย
With just four options, this month's new FurEver Friends Fun Poll might prove more insightful...
I predict "people person" will be the loneliest option, but we'll find out in the next quarterly update early in January.
Thank you for being a Friend, Friend!
A very early happy holidays,
