"She's my loveBug": Bug's Happy Tail

When the day of her double eye surgery finally arrived, Bug had plenty of people in her corner rooting for a smooth recovery, including the FurEver Friends that make our Urgent Care grants possible. Sandy was immensely grateful to see friends and family contributing to her fundraiser for her "loveBug" to feel like herself again.

AVMA Conference: Connections reach new heights in Denver

At the American Veterinary Medical Association’s annual conference, RedRover’s former President and CEO Nicole Forsyth presented on “Beyond Mandatory Reporting: Developing Protocols for Early Detection of Abuse,” with Dr. Amanda Landis-Hanna, a veterinarian on our Board of Directors. This year, we also invited veterinary professionals to join our 25 by 2025 campaign with the goal of helping 25% of DV shelters become pet friendly by 2025.

RedRover has been integral in developing the field of animal disaster response through our role as a founding member of NARSC: formed as a coalition of animal disaster response groups who aim to improve response coordination, develop emergency response best practices, and to generally improve the field.

From Cages to Couches – RedRover Responders in Missouri

The RedRover Responders program’s June collaboration with National Mill Dog Rescue (NMDR) in Missouri saw over 100 small-breed dogs transported from a commercial breeding facility. Thanks to organizations like NMDR, these small, fluffy dogs had the resources and room to grow before moving on to their next chapter.

Ten-year-old Alivia Smith has been fostering kittens with her family since she was 4. She inspired thousands of youth through her May/June Kind News™ "Humane Hero" feature, and is now chronicled in her local Laurinburg, North Carolina Herald-Advocate.
