October 2025 – Monthly Update

Happy Halloween, FurEver Friends!

This is no trick: your recurring support is a treat to the hundreds of pets and families who count on RedRover in times of crisis. Thank booOooOo all for being an important part of our community!

Mildred’s Happy Tail

Fourteen years ago, Traci was working at a dog kennel where a sweet beagle puppy was abandoned by her owners. There was no question that Mildred would come home with her. There was also no question when Traci found Mildred injured that she would do everything she could to get her the care she needed. The wound was not healing properly, and the multiple visits to the veterinarian had exhausted Traci’s savings. With help from our FurEver Friends and a RedRover Relief Urgent Care grant, Traci could not only afford to treat Mildred’s injuries, but also accelerate her healing with light therapy. Your recurring support is the reason sweet seniors like Mildred are enjoying their golden years happy and healthy with the people who love them.

Finding Friendship While Caring for Dogs In Need

Last month, the RedRover Responders team answered the call and deployed to Maryland to help our partners at Humane World for Animals (HWA), formerly called the Humane Society of the United States – our second deployment with HWA this year! Further north, we had the privilege of returning to Detroit alongside Dog Aide to capture the stories of families with beloved dogs and the community they serve. Our RedRover Responders staff and volunteers built outdoor enclosures for 26 dogs, freeing them from a life on chains.

RedRover DVAM Panel: The Importance of Keeping Survivors and their Pets Together

The Importance of Keeping Survivors and Pets Together – Panel Recap

We were thrilled to launch our first-ever Domestic Violence Awareness (and Action) Month (DVAM) webinar campaign with a panel discussion focused on the importance of recognizing the link between human and animal violence. Panelists shared their perspectives on how the movement has grown, what it means to them and their organizations, and how we continue to create “communities of safety, help, and healing” (Ashley Rumschlag) that include all members of the family.
