Welcome to...the third week of the New Year, Friend 🎉🎉🎉
Your special quarterly bulletin is here, a bright spot among the relentless "New Year, New You" marketing emails. I am excited to say that you as a FurEver Friend are the first to receive an update from RedRover in 2025 – from celebrating last year's wins for pets and families to making plans for changing more lives in the new year, you make it all possible.
Last year, more than 3,100 of you kind people contributed more than $556,000 to protect animals in crisis, help families thrive with their pets, and bring empathy back to our communities. If only the hope, healthy, and happiness you inspired were as easily quantified.
While Take Your Dog to Work Day won't be until June 20 this year (I'm serious), I had my pup Zeppo review the numbers here. Here is my best translation, straight from the good boy's mouth.

Better than treats, you protected countless animals and gave them more time to be spoiled with treats by the people who love them. For our new recurring donors and our yearslong, steady supporters alike, thank you for being a Friend to the animals!
We're looking forward to another big year with your support – especially for helping more domestic violence shelters become pet friendly through our 25 by 2025 campaign – but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Here's what's coming up for the next few wintry months.

JANUARY
You give to help animals out of the goodness of your heart, but a tax break never hurts. In case you missed our
monthly newsletter in December, here's a reminder about important changes to your annual statement:
You can download individual receipts for donations made online* in 2024 from our Donor Portal. Individual receipts for your 2025 donations WILL NOT be available in the Donor Portal throughout the year.
A paper statement of your total 2024 giving will be mailed to you by the end of January. This will be the last time you will receive a printed summary of your annual giving. Beginning in 2026, an annual statement of your 2025 recurring donations will only be delivered electronically.
*Please note "donations made online" does not include any gifts made on Big Day of Giving (May 2, 2024) through the GivingEdge platform. These gifts are processed separately and will only be on the paper statement. If you're uncertain whether you would need a paper statement or not, or would like to opt out of receiving a paper statement, please reply to this email and I'll be happy to help out a Friend 😺

Getting organized is a probably a top 10 New Year's Resolution around the world and I've made it easy for you over at the FurEver Friends Hub. The visual guide to the Donor Portal is a Friend Favorite!

FEBRUARY
The only
things stopping me from officially declaring my dogs my Valentines are my last shred of dignity and their tragic inability to enjoy chocolates – but we're still celebrating!
💝💞💘💖💝💞💘💖💝💞💘💖
If they could read a calendar, they would be counting the days to Friday, February 14. With a little inspiration from the folks at Stella & Chewy's, I'll be making it a Valentine's Day to remember, and hopefully, one that will leave them tired enough to just go to sleep that night.
Cheer up this little orange cat with a digital BOOP on the nose and find even more ideas for spending
Valentine's Day with your pet.
If your pet made Valentine's Day plans without you, I'm sorry. Maybe they can reschedule, or you can show your love for all animals instead with the best gift of all: compassion. Why not make a special gift to RedRover in their honor and treat your Valentine with an adorable themed e-card?

MARCH
Does your cat think Valentine's Day has become too commercialized? Will they run away from your pspspsps if you put them in a matching outfit? Fair enough, finicky felines, you have your own special day.
Celebrate International Rescue Cat Day on Sunday, March 2 by indulging your cat's every whim (as if you aren't already) and asking yourself the age-old question, who rescued who?
If you think all the way back to October, I asked in the previous bulletin if you consider yourself a dog person, cat person, creature person, or people person. As predicted, the people persons among you were a lonely bunch. All one of you.
Kudos to the creature person people: you are diplomatic, inclusive, and probably very easily tricked into giving animals what they want.
Perhaps we'll learn how we came to be the creature people we are with this month's new FurEver Friends Fun Poll! And if have a few
minutes to spare, I'd love if you could share more about the pets in your life who left precious, indelible pawprints on your heart.
I know the leap between "one perfect angel" and "practically a zoo" doesn't leave much room for nuance – especially if your childhood pet(s) were far from angelic. That's okay. Go with your gut, and thank the creature who made you the kind, compassionate person you are for the memories that will last FurEver.
Thank you for being a Friend, Friend!
Until next time,

P.S. This is the fourth bulletin! A full year of fun updates for so many Friends. Your feedback would be a big help in making the next four updates useful, enjoyable, and a welcome companion* to the monthly newsletter, so feel free to reply directly to this email and let me know what you're thinking.
*A little pun for you and an archive of our quarterly printed magazine, Companion.
